Forming a T-Rex skull using particles

Initially inspired by a Triceratops museum exhibition where an interactive infographic had a dial to progress the animation of a bone. This project evolved as I accumulated various inspirations to improve the project.

Particles

Description

-

I went through many renders to get the particles moving the way I wanted. At first, the particles would fizzle out and I wanted them to move a bit slower but eventually was inspired by the portal particles in Stranger Things. So I added more drag to the particles and slowed them down to get this wispy particle effect that moves similarly to dust.

Animation and Look

Description

-

The first trials on this render looked really jittery and I had to go through many renders just to get the particles forming smoothly. I was also initially quite happy with the original render, but I also really quite like the grainy film look so I added some lense flares off the side to give it just a tinge of colour.
